Summer

The alpine region offers a variety of wonderful excursions for the whole family:

The Aareschlucht, in 4 minutes distance from the B&B Carina, or the ragged
glacier canyon Rosenlaui, the steaming Brienz Rothorn train, the popular open air museum Ballenberg, the steep Gelmer mountain railway and the romantic Engstelnsee.

The Gelmer funicular, with its 106% gradient, is the steepest funicular in the world, it takes you up to the picturesque Lake Gelmer. Enjoy the exciting ride with the Trift aerial cable car up through the gorge. The top station is starting point for the 1 1/2 hour high alpine mountain hike up to the spectacular Trift bridge. The Tälli funicular brings you up to the base of the imposing Gadmen cliffs. Further information about the alpine lifts.

Most popular excursions for families are the dwarf paths"Muggestutz -
Adventure on the dwarf path" and "Muggestutz - and the house in the
banned forest".

Winter

The alpine region with it's winter sport area Meiringen-Hasliberg
is a popular destination for winter sports.

The station for the Meiringen-Hasliberg mountain railway can be reached by public transport or by car within a few minutes.

60km of prepared ski- and carving slopes, the snowboardpark,
35km winter trails, 20km cross-country skiing trails and perfect
sledge trails offer everything .

The children’s ski paradise «Skihäsliland» awaits kids at Bidmi with: toddlers conveyor lift, snowboard lift, circus wagon, snowboard beginners park, children’s lifts, igloo village, slide, ski carrousel…
